Science - Twilight CTD

Halfway through the cruise, I began to live for this time of day - the magic time when, even if clouds covered the sky, the light would go deep blue for about a half hour. I made it a habit to go stalking around the ship at that time, trying to find something to match to the intense light. One night I found it - we were on station in calm water and the CTD was coming back on deck. I set up my tripod and fired a few slow exposures as the winch raised the instruments out of the water.
