Rose water
In the weeks before and after the autumnal equinox, the amount of
daylight one experiences in the Arctic is similar to that in temperature
latitudes. Unlike last year, when the sun was our constant companion,
this year we had night. I never missed a sunrise or sunset, although
the clouds usually obscured the sun. In this case, the morning sun
had just crested the horizon and colored the water an amazing shade
of rosy orange. This abstract image shows the sunlight reflected off
the wavelets.
