Science - Main lab

This is one of my favorite science photos because it shows how oceanography is done most of the time. Although most of the photos on the website were taken outside during mooring operations or CTD casts, those events were pretty short in duration. For the rest of the cruise, most of the scientists in the main lab looked just like this. Bob Pickart and Carin Ashjian are looking at data on their computers. Bob's look of intense concentration is what appealed to me when I took this shot. He is so focused on his work that I don't think he even noticed I was taking pictures.
