Abstract waves
In the absence of ice, I turned to the sky and waves for many of my
scenic shots on this cruise. After days and days of watching the water,
I came to appreciate some very fleeting photogenic moments. The best
photography was when the water was either perfectly smooth (thus capturing
reflections of the sky) or very very rough (showing the raw power
of the ocean). In this case, I observed that a bit of the water's surface would
be "smoothed out" by the Healy as she completed
a turn into a CTD station. The smooth surface caught the light of the sky and made
some beautiful reflections, shown here.
