Wildlife - Black-Legged Kittiwake in Snow

A successful black-legged kittiwake makes a hasty escape with its meal. Eating was never leisurely for these birds - once a kittiwake caught a cod or other morsel, it would be instantly mobbed by hawk-like parasitic jaegers (also known as arctic skuas) or glaucous gulls, intent on making the kittiwake drop the fish. I selected this image because if you look closely you can see snow flying in the background.
